Who We Are
The African Sisters Network is a Pan-African women leadership ecosystem dedicated to developing, connecting and amplifying African women and girls.
We create pathways for women to grow through leadership development, mentorship, storytelling, professional development and access to opportunities.
Our work is built around the belief that every African woman deserves access to the networks, knowledge and platforms required to achieve her full potential.
We are building a movement where African women are not only participants in Africa’s growth story but are recognised as leaders, innovators, decision-makers and change-makers.
Our Mission
To accelerate the leadership and personal advancement of African girls and women by providing access to mentorship, leadership development, visibility platforms and opportunities that enable them to thrive and create impact.
Through our programmes and community, we equip women with the confidence, skills, networks and resources required to navigate their journeys, pursue opportunities and become influential contributors in society.
A continent where every African woman realizes her full potential, leads with confidence, contributes meaningfully to society, and creates opportunities for future generations.
By 2040, African Sisters Network aims to empower 1 million girls and women across Africa, creating a connected ecosystem of women leaders who are driving positive change in their communities, organisations and industries.
At The African Sisters Network, our “why” is rooted in the belief that every African girl has the potential to make a profound impact on the world. Yet, many face barriers to realizing that potential, limited access to mentorship, education, professional networks, and personal development tools.
Our commitment is to remove those barriers by building a nurturing community that supports, teaches, and inspires. We exist to ensure that no African girl navigates her journey alone. Through collective effort, storytelling, and leadership, we are creating a future where African girls rise with confidence, lead with purpose, and leave a legacy.
Storytelling: We believe in the power of storytelling to inspire, empower, and connect African girls, enabling them to share their experiences boldly and authentically.
Inclusivity: We foster an inclusive and supportive community where all African girls feel welcome, valued, and respected, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Solidarity: We cultivate a sense of sisterhood and solidarity among African girls, encouraging them to uplift and support one another in their journeys of self-discovery and empowerment.
Transformation: We are committed to facilitating personal growth and transformation among African girls, empowering them to overcome challenges, embrace their strengths, and realize their full potential.
Education: We advocate for the importance of education and knowledge-sharing as tools for empowerment and self-advancement among African girls.
Resilience: We nurture resilience and perseverance among African girls, helping them navigate obstacles and setbacks with courage and determination.
Sustainability: We prioritize sustainability and long-term impact in our efforts to empower African girls, striving to create lasting change and legacy for future generations.
The Story Behind The African Sisters Network
African Sisters Network was founded from a belief that every African girl deserves access to the support, networks and opportunities required to achieve her full potential.
Through her work in communications, personal branding, career development and leadership growth, TASN founder Victoria Ateenyi a.ka. Victoria Nyanzi witnessed a recurring challenge: many talented women had the ambition and ability to succeed, yet lacked access to mentors, networks, visibility and platforms that could accelerate their journeys.
Victoria recognised that talent alone is not always enough. Women also need access, access to people, knowledge, opportunities and spaces where their voices can be heard.
This realization inspired the creation of The African Sisters Network: a platform designed to ensure that African girls and women do not navigate their journeys alone.
What began as a vision to create meaningful connections has evolved into a leadership ecosystem focused on developing women, amplifying their voices and creating pathways for them to thrive.
Today, TASN continues to build a future where African women are confident leaders, influential voices and active contributors to the continent’s transformation.
